Deu 10:1-5 “I Will Write on the Tables…and Put Them in the Ark”

Deu 10:1  At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
Deu 10:2  And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
Deu 10:3  And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand.
Deu 10:4  And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.
Deu 10:5  And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

Our physical hearts are similar in dimensions to the Ark, longer than wide and about the same width and thickness. It is made up of four chambers, with two on each side, commonly referred to as the right heart and left heart.

Eze 11:19  And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Eze 11:20  That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

Rom 2:13  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14  For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15  Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

2Co 3:3  Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Jer 17:1  The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

Our hearts from birth are stony, hard and cannot love the things of God. Yet we think we are loving God from the things we “do for Christ”. I recently spent an hour or more discussing scripture with a man I know locally. We debated back and forth about God’s sovereignty over mankind, good and evil. This man goes to a brick and mortar building every Sunday, leads the choir, knows scripture but says “defiantly” that he accepted Christ. He argued with me that man has a free will independent from God, and God cannot go against the decisions of His very creation. In reality, we as human beings were created so corruptible and marred that if God Himself did not literally DRAG us to the knowledge of truth, no man would be saved.

Mat 24:22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

These days are not just literal days. These days which must be shortened are the actual eons of the nations within me. My very life has to be shortened from the carnal fleshly mind or I will not be saved from my sin. But for the Elect’s sake within me, my days are shortened. The parable of this is in the literal amount of days the first few generations lived;

Gen 5:5  And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

Gen 5:8  And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

You get the picture! They lived almost a thousand years. Looking at our days today, they are in relation, very short. Why? What changed after the flood that people’s lives were cut short? Before the flood their lives were long, nearing a thoudsand years, and after the flood, their lives and our lives are cut short. Why? As all things in the bible, this is a parable of the elect of God. We come into this world seeing the future, looking at life as a long period, full of potential and happiness. Then, by the predestined hand of God, our lives get very complicated and begin to spin out of control. Christ, our Creator, has planned these events in each life as a goad to drag us to the knowledge of the truth. I am talking only of the elect in these statements, for the world and all its inhabitants were made for our learning, for our instruction. Our literal lives are seen as being cut short once we come to the knowledge of the truth. Whatever I saw myself as before seeing the truth is now dead after the flood of the water of truth drowns my old man out.

1Sa 2:6  The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.
1Sa 2:7  The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
1Sa 2:8  He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.
1Sa 2:9  He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

1Co 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Do not look at these verses outwardly. Look inwardly at yourself….”the LORD kills” (you), “He makes (you ) alive” after He has killed you! “He brings (me) down to the grave, and brings (me) up”, He makes (me) poor, and makes (me) rich” from being poor in myself. When He kills me by the law, it is for the purpose of making me rich in faith. The law kills, but the spirit gives life. The law was created to kill so that we can have life. If we lived for almost a thousand years in the flesh, we still would never be able to master the law of the flesh. The law will always have dominion over the flesh for the purpose of killing any hope that we have something in ourselves which can bring us to Christ. The law that kills is glorious to God, and the law that gives life is much more glorious to God. We are cut short in this life so we may have life eternal in the spirit. Listen to these verses:

2Co 3:1  Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
2Co 3:2  Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2Co 3:3  Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

The first stones were broken because they were written upon stones. The second set of laws were written on stones also, but they are a parable of the law being written on our hearts, encased in the Ark. The first set was broken to show us how they would be rewritten upon our hearts. Our hearts represent those stones. We have two sides to our hearts and two main arteries coming in and out of this heart, like the two staffs that carry the Ark. One brings the blood through the heart, and the other filters the blood out. Every day our heart pumps thousands of times, drawing blood into the heart and then pushing it out. This process is a parable of the things of God and how we see them.

2Co 3:4  And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
2Co 3:5  Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
2Co 3:6  Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
2Co 3:7  But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
2Co 3:8  How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
2Co 3:9  For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

This “ministration” is the purpose that, as the heart pumping blood in and out of the heart, God uses the law. On one hand, it kills us, and on the other hand, it gives us life. The law of the flesh kills us. We just read that the LORD kills, then the law of the spirit applies to me because I am in spirit, because The LORD Who killed me resurrects me in Christ. I am cut short in the flesh but given everlasting life in the spirit. I am saved from death by being killed. I cannot be resurrected unless I am killed, and that’s what the law does – it kills.

2Co 3:10  For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
2Co 3:11  For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
2Co 3:12  Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
2Co 3:13  And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: [The world as a whole cannot see the end product of death by the law.]
2Co 3:14  But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
2Co 3:15  But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16  Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
2Co 3:17  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2Co 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

How does this glory come? By going through death, and if that which killed me was glorious, how much more glorious is life? There’s no comparison. Now, the Ark, where the law was put, is our heart. Not our literal heart, but what we desire the most. My greatest love and what pumps through that greatest love is within myself, my flesh. The desires of the flesh is our heart’s desire when we are still blinded. This is why a seemingly competent man, my friend who argued for his free will, can love his own rights over the sovereign reign of the ALMIGHTY GOD. We are all this man until we aren’t. We are all blinded by what we believe to be right, as we look through the eyes of a dead man. We hold the law of the flesh up as our banner of pride and with a stiff neck and hard heart judge everyone guilty but ourself. We think, “I chose Jesus Christ with my own free will, and I keep the law until I don’t, then that’s okay for me, but not for you.” It is great audacity and pride to say the words, “I accepted Jesus as my LORD and savior”. The Creator of heaven and earth, Who created me, I accept you. This, too, is glorious in the eyes of God, because He created me to do exactly that – deny His kingship. In the flesh, we would rather deny God His Lordship over our lives than deny ourselves our own lordship.

Jer 48:26  Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

2Pe 2:22  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The first set of laws were broken so that the next set cannot be. We break the law of the flesh to kill us, and then we keep the law of the spirit for life. We can wallow in our own vomit and claim our own free will or be killed by the law so that we can live unto God. The world wallows in its own shame for the purpose of killing all flesh by the law. It is basically suicide. The more we proclaim our freedom over God’s sovereignty, the more we rot in death, decompose, and unless those days were shortened no flesh would be saved; meaning there would be nothing to be saved from my life. But God has predestined my life to have gold and silver, good works that I was predestined to walk in. These are the works of Christ in me, His works. This is the flesh that is saved, the works of Christ.

Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The ages to come, the eon to come, the period of life I live after I have been resurrected is the eon (aion) He created in me for His glory. My life, my eon was created for His glory, not for me, my parents, my family, my friends. My life was created to bring forth glory to Christ. We are being killed daily, hourly, continuing to be sacrificed for the glory of God. We are crucified daily and resurrected daily, we are all the day long being killed so we can have life. Good blood into the heart/ark, bad blood out of the heart/ark, constantly circulating nutrients to the rest of the body of Christ. We are His workmanship, and so is everyone that has ever been created. My friend who denies God by claiming his own freewill was created for me to learn from, to see myself in him and what I have been saved from, and what I am dying to daily. For as long as this flesh lives, it will deny God in truth and will need to be put to death daily, hourly, minute by minute. May God grant us the privlege to put the flesh to death daily and endure to the end. May the tribulations and trials we go through every day kill all that is in us and may God bring forth the life of Christ in our flesh. Let us read the following verses inwardly and see them now in a light of inward introspection instead of outward dispensation. There is an outward fulfillment, but we cannot see it until we see it inwardly first. Moses saw the promised land but never entered it. He could see it afar off but never obtained it. The same is true with our flesh. We think we see the outward before we see the inward, but unless we can see the inward, we cannot and never will see the outward.

Mat 24:3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Mat 24:4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8  All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Mat 24:9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
Mat 24:10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Mat 24:16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Mat 24:21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Our heart’s desire is what God allows to restrain the truth, and that heart’s desire is the desire of the man of sin. But when that man of sin is taken out of the way, the truth is seen. First we have a stony heart, and then we have a fleshly heart. First we reject the truth, then we receive the truth. The rejection must come first and so that same principle is applied to us inwardly when reading the scriptures. First we fantasize about end-time events and ecclesiastical events taking place when we are still the man of sin sitting upon the throne. First we are presented with the commandments, and then we break them by worshipping a god of our own works. Then we are given the commandments in spirit, and they are written upon our hearts.

Rom 7:24  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Rom 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Rom 8:7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

When I see myself as “o wretched man”, then the great tribulation has started which we read about in Matthew 24:21. Then those days are shortened so we can be saved and fulfill the predestined work which has been planned that we fulfill. The first set of laws are broken so that the next ones can be given and written upon our hearts and put into the Ark. It is after the second set of laws of the spirit are given we begin to cross the Jordan (holding the Ark/cross and dying daily) and enter the promised land. First the natural, then the spiritual. The first set of tables was broken because they were not put in the Ark. The second set was put, not only on the cross, another type of the Ark, but written upon our hearts by the spirit of God in Christ, the finger of God. Our hearts desire is being formed into the same heart Christ has, to be crucified daily. This is keeping the commandments of God. The law of the spirit is to see myself as the wretched man and then to see my new man as Christ, dying daily by the determined counsel of God.

Act 4:27  For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
Act 4:28  For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

Knowing we are doing whatsoever the predestined hand of God has determined we do for His glory, puts the commandments into the Ark, first the cross, then our heart to desire the cross. The commandments are carried around in the Ark/Cross, and if that cross is in our hearts, we are fulfilling it and walking according to the spirit;

Rom 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

May God grant us to walk in the Spirit and not in the letter and may Christ receive glory for all of it.
